Your Business Needs for You to Be Healthy
You have built a great business that continues to grow and make you money, but it took so much of your time that you ended up ignoring your health. This is a position that many business owners find themselves in. Unfortunately, once you stop ignoring our health it is very hard to adopt good habits again – you get set in our ways and it becomes very difficult to get back to habits that will get you healthy. What you need to be thinking is this: what good will this business do me if I am too unhealthy to enjoy it? What good will it do anyone if I get a heart attack or a stroke or develop a chronic illness?
Staying healthy doesn’t take very much. The biggest obstacle is getting the will to do it. If you haven’t jogged in the last 10 or 15 years it is very hard for you to suddenly start doing it. In fact, if you do it is quite unlikely that you will start running on a regular basis. This is not to say that you should give up. Quite the opposite. The only thing you need to do is start small – give your body challenges that it can handle – you can start by spending just a few minutes in the gym and then over time increase your workout time as your body gets stronger and stronger. Do it at least 2 or 3 times a week.
You should also examine what you put into your body. In the early years of building your business it is quite likely that you ate whatever was most convenient and that is usually fast food. If you have remained on that kind of diet then you have accumulated toxins over the years that need to go. You also need to change your diet and make healthier food choices. Changing what you eat is hard – once the body learns to enjoy a certain kind of food it is very difficult to give it up. You should start by detoxing. There are many detoxification diets that you can try – just check online. Don’t worry if they look a bit too rigorous – they only last a few days. Don’t choose anything that would put your health in danger.
Once you have finished your detox you will feel much better both physically and mentally. That is the right time to start a new, healthy diet. Eat organic – it is now widely available. You should make sure that each meal contains a healthy carbohydrate, a lean protein, lots of fruits and vegetables. For snacks instead of reaching for something processed eat fruits or nuts. Also, make sure to reduce your sugar consumption.
